We’re looking for talented woodworkers to join our team in St. Clements (Just outside of Waterloo).
You would be an integral part of the Artco family and facilitate a key step in the journey of bringing our client's dreams to life.
CURRENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE

GENERAL LABOURER / WOODWORKING
This is a full-time position with 44 hours a week. Wage commensurate with experience. Benefits are provided after the 3-month probationary period.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Operate modern woodworking machinery to produce accurate parts for final assembly- Complete final sanding and assembly of high-end custom furniture for luxury hotels
- Install hardware (handles, knobs, hinges, etc.) to finished furniture, as per specs provided from engineering
- Package furniture for shipping to ensure safe transportation during delivery
- Help maintain an organized and tidy workspace to ensure smooth processes and enable your team to produce the best quality products
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure production requirements are met safely and efficiently

Beamsaw Operator
This is a full-time position with 44 hours a week. Wage commensurate with experience. Benefits are provided after the 3-month probationary period.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
-Safely operate modern woodworking machinery to produce accurate parts for final assembly
-Perform programming and set-up on machines as experience allows
-Organize machined parts to ensure efficient assembly
-Help maintain an organized and tidy workspace to ensure smooth processes and enable your team to produce the best quality products
-Collaborate with other team members to ensure production requirements are met safely and efficiently
WHAT YOU’LL BRING-2+ years wood machining experience
-Ability to read and discern blueprints
-Ability to lift 50-75lbs
-A general understanding of machinery and their operations

Furniture Engineer
This is a full-time position with 44 hours a week. Wage commensurate with experience. Benefits are provided after the 3-month probationary period.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
-Draft custom furniture to meet supplied specifications using the Autodesk Inventor program
-Draft complex surfaces for upholstered products (such as chairs, loveseats, bench seating, headboards, and stools)
-Produce final drawings and supporting documents for the various departments involved in manufacturing the furniture
-Ensure the clients’ needs and desires are prioritized and brought to fruition with excellence
-Help maintain an organized and tidy workspace to ensure smooth processes and enable your team to produce the best quality products
-Collaborate with other team members to ensure production requirements are met safely and efficiently
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
-Ability to read and discern complex blueprints
-Competency with computers and various forms of software
-5 years of woodworking experience is recommended

Furniture Craftsperson

WHAT YOU’LL DO
-Read and interpret blueprints to create high-quality furniture
-Select appropriate materials and tools for each project
-Construct and assemble furniture pieces according to specifications
-Perform quality checks to ensure products meet design and durability standards
-Work with the design team to improve product functionality and aesthetics
-Collaborate with other team members to ensure production requirements are met safely and efficiently
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
-Proven experience as furniture builder or in a similar role an asset
-Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques and tools
-Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
-Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
-Good physical condition and endurance

BONUS: Further education in carpentry or a relevant field is a plus.

Project Coordinator
This is a full-time position with 44 hours a week. Wage commensurate with experience. Benefits are provided after the 3-month probationary period.

-Assist project team as directed with data entry, data verification, logistical details, and other duties as they come up in our fast paced environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Perform programming on machines as experience allows- Develop CNC programs for production runs
-Analyze drawings to determine dimensions to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates
-Modify existing programs for different machines
-Help maintain an organized and tidy workspace to ensure smooth processes and enable your team to produce the best quality products
-Collaborate with other team members to ensure production requirements are met safely and efficiently
WHAT YOU’LL BRING- 2+ years of machine programming required
- Experience with programming 3 and 5-axis CNC
- Experience with MasterCam
- Woodworking experience is an asset but not required
- Ability to read and discern blueprints
- Ability to lift 50-75lbs
